The Optical Underground (formerly known as The Optical Outlet) sells high-end designer eyewear at wholesale prices. Founded in 1990 by Lloyd Silverstein, a third generation eyecare professional, The Optical Underground features a large selection of overstocked, discontinued, and sample eyewear from top name frame designers. In addition, The Optical Underground offers an exciting private collection of designer-inspired styles which equal many of the high-end frames at a much lower price. Our frame prices are at least 30% lower than any other quality optician's--no matter what "sale" they are advertising! In fact, most of our frames are priced at 50%-60% lower than other high-end optical businesses. The Optical Underground also provides the highest quality prescription lenses available at some of the best prices in the Bay Area.
